Solid value
One of the best values on the gulf coast. Course is in good shape, bunkers just got redone. If you get a hot deal here, it’s worth it 10/10 times. Pace of play is usually a bit slower but where isn’t right now.
Great track thwarted by a 8 slow groups!
Simply put - track is phenomenal and lives up to the hype. Tee to green was great. I wouldn’t hesitate to play this track again if. .
Bad - There was a group of 32 players (8 groups) playing in their own mini-tourney. No issues there in general until your group takes 3 hrs to make the turn. We sped ahead on the back nine to hit 16-18, then back around to 10-15. My question was where was the Marshall to help speed them along? We finished, hurriedly, as the daylight went away. That’s frustrating. If we don’t go ahead, it would’ve been a 6 hr round! Unacceptable. I’ll take this as a one-off, but you expect better from such a good track.
Playing down south
Course was in really great shape, very windy the day we played, but can’t blame that on the course
Fast & furious
Greens with the undulations, were extremely challenging when putting down hill, with the wind & grain. However, they ran pretty true so no complaints!
Pace of play
Teed off @ 11 am finished at 4:50 pm
Waited on every hole, for myself who enjoyed playing at a good pace makes for a miserable day.
Only seen the beverage cart twice in that 5. 5 plus hours on the course.
