Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club
About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Great course & value
Recommend highly. Fast greens, well manicured tees and fairways. Back 9 much more challenging. Hole #15 was beautiful but exceptionally difficult par 5. Facilities in excellent shape. Staff very helpful and friendly. Carts are new and fast. Overall a great course and very good value.
Good day
Hot day but the course was in good condition and pace of play was great
Great layout and course conditions.
Despite dealing with lots of rain prior to my Friday round, the course was in as good condition as you can hope for. Only 4 holes cart path only and 90 degrees for the rest; it shows the course drains well. The starter was very friendly and helpful. Only downside was a 3some playing in front of us was fooling around and holding us from proper pace of play (and despite meeting in the tee of several holes, they didn’t allowed my 2some to play through).
Great staff, course and pace of play
Staff couldn't be nicer. Beautiful course layout with homes not too close to fairways. Water comes into play on a few holes but not difficult to maneuver. Challenging course with fairway bunkers on most holes. Par threes were great. Good sand in bunkers. Greens were not sloped too severly but had movement in them and were on the fast side. You won't be disappointing with this one.
Great Day on the Golf Course
Well worth the Hot Deal Price. Not such a deal at their published rate. But still a great place to play.
Twin diamonds
There are two courses at Diamondhead , the Pines and the Cardinal.. we played the pine on Monday and the cardinal on Tuesday. They have a great restaurant and Bar,. Everyone was friendly from Richard in the pro shop to the starters. The courses winds there way through a combination working and retirement communities.. There were houses and condos that were all unique not cookie cutter like on some courses. These courses have personally. If I lived here I would be a member.
Had a great time on the cardinal course. Staff was friendly and courteous. Only complaint was slow playing stayed backed up several times.
Would recommend to all.
First time at diamondhead
I was very excited to play here it did not disappoint. All the facilities were great. I would have to say the only thing is pace of play. They was alot of full groups playing and not adhering to the expected pace of play, which lead to alot of lulls between every ball strike. I would play here again, would just try for an earlier round time.
